I am Celine, a complementary health practitioner working in Poole – Dorset. I focus on health, wellbeing and sport performance through Smart Bowen, NST, Kinesiology, Clinical Reflexology and Scar Work. I work restoring the balance of the body as well as its functions, using a combination of recognised techniques which I tailor to meet your personal needs and requirements.
My approach is holistic; I work over the whole body to ensure that I'm not simply treating symptoms but also address the root of the problem, following the process “assess, correct, reassess…” It helps the whole body naturally rebalance, repair and heal itself by addressing any musculo-skeletal disorders related to injury, bad posture, or high level of stress. It results in the relief of acute and chronic pain, in deep tension release, stress reduction and in motricity improvement.
Having worked in depth with elites on the biomechanical and mental aspects in order to rehabilitate them and/or optimize their sports performance, I aim to meet the needs and demands of all clients. It is in the small details, the touch and the scrutinization of movement that I work to understand fluidity, identify blockages and facilitate the body’s amazing ability to recover.
Clients ranging from a few months old to well into their 90s, a mix of gender, elite and everyday sports people, many manual workers, people undergoing and/or recovering from injury or surgery and more… my doors are open to all. My goal is to provide effective and efficient results in the shortest time while respecting body rhythms.
Although many clients choose to continue with maintenance according to their needs, there are many others who find they are fine after a few sessions, only getting in touch if further issues arise.
I am a registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
Bowen is a remedial and holistic body treatment that is used to restore the balance of the body as well as its functions. It helps the whole body naturally rebalance, repair and heal itself by addressing any musculo-skeletal disorders related to injury, bad posture, or high level of stress. It results in the relief of acute and chronic pain and motricity improvement.
Assessing constantly the body in order to restore the symmetric alignment, I perform gentle moves using my thumbs and fingers to contact mechanoreceptors on soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments.)
Through combined action on the nervous system and the fascia, I allow the achievement of a deep level of relaxation conducive to the resetting/rebooting of the body parameters including proprioception and vestibular system function. Throughout the session, breaks punctuate my work to allow the body and brain to connect and begin healing adjustments.
Craniosacral therapy is a form of holistic therapy with its origins in osteopathy. It is both an extremely gentle and profound way of interacting with what we call the patient's "system," which means not only the physical structures, fascia, muscles, bones, nerves, etc., but also the emotional or mental blockages that may be attached to them, including through tissue memory.
Old patterns of tension in the body stemming from long-standing injuries, sometimes even forgotten by the patient themselves, recent trauma such as a bad fall, or the experience of giving birth, can be released, allowing the restoration of a sense of well-being and health for a variety of issues.
“Guiding the body into a meditative state helps promote letting go and the reestablishment of a positive self-image.”
Described by his founder Michael J Nixon-Livy as the modern osteopathy; Neuro Structural integration Technique is considered by leading health authorities to be the world’s premier ‘hands-on’ technique in spinal and structural therapy for lasting pain removal and rejuvenation.
Using specialised soft tissue manipulation, NST resets the body tensional system inducing natural spinal auto-regulation, rapidly eliminating pain, while restoring postural integrity and vitality.
NST creates a context within the neuromuscular fascial and sacro-occipital systems that ‘alerts’ the human organism to naturally return to its optimal point of balance or ‘homeostasis’. Although NST can be applied to any condition that the human organism is capable of manifesting its effectiveness is most dramatically obvious in the resolution of all spinal and structural conditions including back pain, neck pain, conditions of the articulations, cranial and TMJ disorders, headaches, sporting injuries, respiratory and digestive conditions, menstrual conditions, chronic fatigue and emotional depression.
As a general guide the vast majority of patients need between 1-5 sessions to achieve sustainable corrections.
Kinesiology is a powerful way of assessing and addressing body ‘s imbalances; it represents also an opportunity to test food tolerance and/or food supplements (vitamins and minerals).
Muscle testing allows the practitioner to explore areas of imbalance within your body and discover whether these imbalances have an emotional, structural, chemical or electro-magnetic element.
By testing a muscle, I am looking for the neurological response (brain-body coordination), the functionality and condition of the muscle itself: is the muscle found ‘weak’ or ‘strong”?
I use Kinesiology amazing techniques for bringing the body back into balance, following the idea that attaining the balance allows the body to be in an optimum position to heal itself. When all the muscles test as ‘strong’, this would indicate that the circuits associated with the muscles are functioning correctly and balance has been restored.
As a clinical reflexologist, I assess and identify areas of imbalance by applying pressure to reflex points on feet, hands and ears which correspond to all the different areas of the body, including the internal organs and glands, to create a treatment plan that I tailor to the individual needs of the client.
I help stimulate the nerves and blood flow to the corresponding area of the body which stimulates the client’s own healing processes. The resulting deep relaxation and improved sense of well-being can benefit anyone, and can be especially beneficial for people who suffer from the many emotional, psychological and physical effects of stress.
I have completed specialist training in the following areas:
I do not treat diseases; I encourage the body's natural healing response.
I perform manual treatment for scars and adhesions - regardless of the age of the trauma - that helps scar tissue reintegrate into the body by loosening and releasing tension to restore the function of muscles, nerves and internal organs and to reduce discomfort.
By reducing tightness and encouraging mobility between the layers of skin, fascia and muscle, the client's range of movement can often improve. Therapeutic touch may reduce pain, help to normalise sensitivity and can be a powerful way to aid emotional recovery after a surgery or accident.
The sessions are based on your body’s natural ability to heal. They typically last 45 minutes for adults and 30 minutes for children and teenagers. (Adjustments can be made upon request).
I also offer online guided meditation sessions, which help reduce stress and anxiety and improve concentration by bringing attention back to the present moment. They promote better sleep, emotional regulation, and can even relieve certain physical pains. Structured and accessible, it’s an ideal way to begin or deepen your mindfulness practice.
